Contact The Record is written and edited in Ball Ground. If something is happening in town that people should know about, we would rather hear it from you than read it later.
News tips Tips are the most useful thing you can send. It does not need to be polished — a date, a name, a document, or just what you saw is enough to start from.
Documents and records Records are welcome whether or not you know what they show. Say where the document came from and how you obtained it, so it can be verified before it is cited. Documents we publish are mirrored here permanently, so the source cannot quietly disappear later.
If it is sensitive Say so in the first line, and say what you do and do not want published. This form is not anonymous to us and it is not encrypted end to end. If that matters for what you are sending, write a short message saying so and nothing else, and we will arrange another way to talk.
Events Community events are listed free. The calendar already pulls from the city's published schedule, so send anything the city does not list. Include the date, time, place, and a link if there is one.
Meetings are public Ball Ground City Council meets in regular session the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m., with a work session the first Thursday at 6 p.m., at City Hall, 215 Valley Street. Both are open to the public and public comment is taken. City Hall can be reached at 770-735-2123.
